Over time, environmental regulations in automotive industry have become progressively more stringent. Car makers and their suppliers have extensively developed their products towards environmental-friendly vehicle. To overcome the environmental-friendly and fuel-efficient challenges, lightweight construction, engine size optimization, and powertrain hybridization are the main approaches pursued by the most car makers. Simultaneously, the lightweight structures and the down-sizing of internal combustion engine are prone to worse their air borne insulation and vibration isolation performance. Engineers and researchers in automotive field are then facing paradoxical challenges. The special understanding of noise, vibration, harshness (NVH) are of crucial importance for the research and development of Next-Generation Automotive. With the aim to deliver the spcialized knowleadge of NVH to automotive industries, students, and interested persons, the Automotive Safety and Assessment Engineering program (ASAE) has organized a special lecture on "Advanced research on NVH" by honorable speaker: Prof. Dr.-Ing.
